Lavazza Voted Most Ethical Brand at European Coffee Awards

Lavazza was recognised as the most ethical brand in Europe at the recent European Coffee Awards ceremony in Milan. Lavazza acted as hosts to 400 guests at the Gala dinner, held at Hotel Melia, in collaboration with with long-term creative partner, and world-renowned Chef, Ferran Adria. Lavazza’s Kafa Ethiopian Forest Blend was served during the proceedings. However, Lavazza is best known for another ethical offering, ¡Tierra!, with activity expanding every year. illycaffè and Lavazza release first full genome sequence for coffee

In exciting news - for the very first time the arabica coffee genome sequence has been released. The genome is the complete set of genetic material that comes together in order to give all organic life its unique form. The work has been commissioned through a partnership between Lavazza & Illycaffè and is the first fully open-access genome sequence for Arabica coffee. The mapping seeks to prepare the coffee industry for some of the potential impacts of climate change, and to work towards further improving the quality of the coffee on offer around the world.
